Researching How To Use Social Media Effectively

Today, I decided, for my semester long project I am going to be using Instagram to help raise awareness and put a stop to gender inequalities in Morocco. One way in which I researched to effectively use Instagram was to use the tools available on the platform. One tool that I can use on Instagram is to make my account a "business" account where I can list my school email so I can answer questions and or concerns that people have about gender inequalities. Another effective way in which I can promote gender equality is to use hashtags effectively. Hashtags, if used correctly, will help other people find my account and bring more awareness to the issue of gender inequality. To create strong hashtags I can use the S.T.R.I.C.T rule, where the S stands for specific, the T stands for target, the R stands for relevant, the I stands for innovative, the C stands for concise, and the last T stands for thoughtful. Making hashtags with these rules is a very effective way to promote gender equality because when people search up S.T.R.I.C.T hashtags my posts will come up, therefore ensuring more people will see my posts. Additionally, when more people see my post there is more chance that they will learn and promote change toward gender equality in certain countries, like Morocco. The last way which I found would help my Instagram account to be successful was to make my account interactive. You can make Instagram accounts interactive by posting about a upcoming awareness events or promoting giveaways, such as links to fundraising websites and posting dates to awareness events. The next step in my project is determining how to make my Instagram account interactive and, importantly, how I can come up with ideas which can use Instagram to take this idea about gender equality outside of Instagram to make a real difference on gender inequality!!!
